Job Description

As part of this master’s thesis with a pre-internship, you will investigate the influence of siloxane vapours on electrical relays. The role combines hands-on experiments, technical analysis and the development of measures to increase reliability in electronics manufacturing. * Hands-on Experiments: You will carry out practical investigations on electrical relays exposed to siloxane vapours and evaluate the effects on their function. * Literature Research and Familiarization: Part of your work will be to familiarize yourself with the current state of the art in process technologies, materials and design approaches. * Standardized Test Procedure: You will optimize an existing test setup in order to establish a more standardized test procedure. * Material and Process Analysis: Your responsibilities will also include material analysis and the characterization of volatile siloxanes. * Optimization Potentials: You will identify promising approaches for cost reduction and efficiency improvement in electronics manufacturing and derive countermeasures to increase reliability.

Requirements

  • Enrollment: You are enrolled at a university during your time at HELLA and have not yet started or completed your final mandatory academic requirement.
  • You are studying mechanical engineering, forming technology, materials science, physics, chemistry or a comparable field.
  • You have basic MS Office skills and can work confidently with emails and documents.
  • Ideally, you have knowledge of silicone materials and electrical relays.
  • You have a strong interest in the analysis of assembly and joining technologies as well as automotive products.
  • Enthusiasm, team spirit and the ability to work independently complete your profile.
