Job Description

At IPS, you will apply your knowledge, skills, and passion to make a difference in the lives of people, solving complex challenges related to pharmaceutical, biotech, and animal health research and manufacturing facilities. We are looking for a Sustainability Intern to join our team out of our office located in Birmingham on a 9-month fixed term basis. This position will report to the Director of Sustainability EMEA. * The Sustainability Intern will assist the greater project team to leverage opportunities in the project design phase and beyond to reduce energy, carbon, water and waste intensities. * Projects are primarily in the life science, biotech and pharmaceutical manufacturing sector, and frequently contribute to larger client portfolio standards and targets around scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions and intensity reductions. * The individual must be technically and analytically minded, and able to articulate ideas and concepts, using research of proven strategies and the latest technologies to guide fellow colleagues and partners towards innovative designs. * This role is about challenging the status quo and guiding the way towards the UK/EU’s and client net zerogoals. * Travel to client sites in the UK may be expected. * We will expose you to all aspects of our work so you can discover what suits you. * If you meet 80% or more of what we’re looking for, please still apply. We understand not everyone will meet all the requirements, but you might have skills we did not know we need to support our clients in achieving their net zero carbon commitments.
