This Master’s project is intended to complement your education and provide you with insight into the work and activities of the R&D department of a pharmaceutical company. The project should last 6 months, and supervision of a master’s thesis on the topic of “Image classification in biopharmaceutical industry using machine learning techniques” is offered Supporting the Vienna R&D team with the following tasks: Image data analysis and feature extraction & engineering Development of machine learning (ML) pipelines using (un)supervised methods Model performance assessment, validation, and robustness assessment using appropriate statistical metrics Benchmark ML-based classification against expert-based and/or orthogonal methods Documentation within the scope of the above-mentioned tasks
