Join us for your Mandatory Internship (f/m/d) at Erlangen and take on exciting technical challenges like heat pump cycle calculation, district heating modelling, and more—let’s drive innovation together!What we offer you Exciting insights into various business areas and fields of activity Challenging and practical project tasks where you can apply and expand your knowledge Individual support and mentoring from experienced mentors The opportunity to actively contribute to ongoing projects You'll make an impact byYou support the development and application of simulation models for thermal systems, such as heat pumps and district heating networks, by working with Python-based tools and librariesBuilding on this, you assist in analyzing and improving steady-state and dynamic simulations to enable more accurate operation and optimization of energy systemsFurthermore, you contribute to the assessment of communication standards and open-source solutions for integrating heat pumps into electric grids for flexibility provisionIn addition, you help develop standardized models for thermal storage units based on real laboratory plants, supporting their integration into optimal control strategiesFinally, you implement and test methods for forecasting thermal loads, leveraging both simple approaches and regression-based techniques This is how you'll win us over Education: You are currently enrolled in a degree program in mechanical engineering, process engineering, electrical engineering, control technology, or energy technologyExperience and Skills:Proficient in software development, especially with PythonQuick comprehension of new Python libraries and frameworksSolid understanding of energy technologies and thermodynamics and their modelingWays of Working: You work independently, are eager to learn, and have strong analytical thinking skillsLanguages: You have fluent English language skills You are much more than your qualifications, and we believe in the potential of every single candidate.
