Job Description

As a civil engineering apprentice technician, you will be working in a team of engineers and technicians supporting the delivery of design work associated with our major projects. Duties may include: • attend off-site training programme leading to a recognised qualification • assisting a team of engineers and technicians with the production of engineering drawings • production of 3D or 2D drawings using computer software • production of Civil 3D or AutoCAD Models of our schemes • preparation and checking of simple engineering calculations • initial checking of own work • contributing to providing solutions to design problems • meeting agreed deadlines • attend and participate in company activities, presentations and workshops • keeping your training log up to date and attending training/Continuous Professional Development where appropriate • supporting the administration of projects. You will be assigned a mentor within your team who you will work and liaise closely with you in your day-to-day work. The Modern Apprenticeship in Civil Engineering will run over a three year period during which time you will undertake a supervised programme of training and college day release which can lead to Technician (EngTech) Membership of the Institution of Civil Engineer (ICE).
