(what your role and responsibility is) As an Apprentice Engineer, you will gain hands-on experience supporting various functions within the Framework team. You'll play a key role in ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of on-site projects, developing vital skills in areas such as setting out, cost control, and record keeping. Your responsibilities will include assisting with method statements, conducting site visits, and gradually taking on supervisory tasks, all while upholding our commitment to health, safety, and quality standards. Occasional travel or periods of working away from home may be necessary. This role will primarily support our work on the Connect Plus framework, delivering critical highways and infrastructure works that keep the strategic road network operating safely and efficiently. You'll be involved in live, operational environments, gaining exposure to complex civil engineering activities on one of the UK's most significant road networks. Due to the nature of the works, this role will require some night working. This will be planned in advance where possible and supported by the wider project team. Occasional travel or periods of working away from home may also be necessary. You'll work with… (because relationships are important) You'll collaborate closely with the project team, including the Site Manager and other professionals, to understand project execution and contract details. Building strong relationships with team members, suppliers, and local communities will be essential as you engage in meetings, workshops, and foster a culture of collaboration and respect.
