Integrated communications and sensing (ISAC) will be a key and revolutionary component of 6G systems, allowing devices to both communicate and sense the surrounding environment, e.g., to determine the presence of obstacles of objects. This thesis will tackle this new paradigm, studying some fundamental trade-offs that arise when implementing it in wireless networks. Your tasks * familiarize with the concept of joint communications and sensing * with special attention to networking settings in which multiple devices may need to exchange information with each other * Investigate, by means of modeling and simulations, some key trade-offs that arise * investigate some protocols to exchange sensed information among devices in a timely fashion
