Job Description

Join the CARE CJC and members of the team to contribute to CJC’s goal to lead and coordinate the integration of climate justice and resilience across CARE’s development and humanitarian work. CJC MEL Intern The main objective of the MEL internship is to provide you with quality learning experiences around data preparation, validation, analysis, interpretation and communication, and knowledge management. In turn, you will lend your expertise to contribute to CARE’s Climate Justice Vision 2030 goal. As a MEL intern at the CARE Climate Justice Centre, you will: * Design and Implement Innovative Approaches: Lead the development of strategies to enhance the capture of CARE’s global impact of Climate Justice Impact Area. * Create Engaging Knowledge Products: Learn to develop and share impactful knowledge products, such as case studies and brief inspirational content, drawn from key evaluations and advocacy reports. * Support MEL for Climate Adaptation Programs: Provide MEL support for critical climate adaptation programs and projects, ensuring quality and impactful outcomes. * Develop Training Resources: Gain expertise in creating training materials and support staff in improving the quality of Climate and Environment Policy (CEP) data reporting, including tracking CARE’s carbon footprint. * Review and Update Reporting Guidance: Conduct a thorough review and revision of the CEP Program/Project Information and Impact Reporting System (PIIRS) reporting guidance note to ensure clarity and effectiveness. * Evaluate and Improve Training Program: Analyze feedback from participants in the MEL for Adaptation course and provide recommendations for course improvement. * Synthesize Global Survey Insights: Analyze results from CARE International’s global survey and offer recommendations to improve the Climate Justice Center (CJC) team’s operations. The internship will take place under the guidance and leadership of the CARE Climate Justice Center MEAL Specialist, based at CARE Uganda, with whom the intern will collaborate closely on all the above tasks.

Requirements

  • Masters students in the fields of Climate Change Adaptation, Disaster Risk Reduction, Geography, Environment, International Development Studies, Anthropology, Sociology, Data Analytics, Statistics.
  • Currently enrolled in a Masters program at a Dutch University
  • Excellent proficiency in English (other languages preferred)
  • Enthusiastic about climate change adaptation and mitigation, climate justice and gender justice
  • Exceptional organisational, analytical and writing skills
  • Good eye for detail, collaborative, proactive, and creative
  • High interest in adult learning, (online) training design and knowledge management
  • Comfortable with, and able to quickly learn new technologies.
