Job Description

The Materials Group is responsible for supporting internal and external customers in the development and manufacturing of current and future diesel and hydrogen products. This includes materials testing and inspection using a wide range of analytical and materials testing techniques including FIB/SEM, surface roughness profilometry, nano-indentation and tribometer. The student will work as integral part of our materials team and will be involved in relevant research and customer related projects.

Requirements

  • Some understanding of metallic and non-metallic materials, properties, characterisation, and processing from degree course.
  • Ability to apply the skills and knowledge learnt on course to date.
  • Good personal and presentation skills, to enable liaison with internal customers.
  • Ability to work methodically and take initiative in improving established processes.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, self-motivated and able to plan and manage own projects.
  • Current IT knowledge of MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point.
  • Good written and spoken fluency in English.
