Starting in September 2026, you will learn and develop engineering skills and knowledge through onsite work placements, whilst also studying for nationally recognized qualifications. You will learn a range of skills including those required to design, analyse, develop and test critical flight control components and their associated test systems. This includes learning to design products and test equipment to aerospace industry and Moog standards using computer aided design and analysis tools. You will learn to safely set up and run tests to demonstrate products meet their requirements. You will gain the knowledge required to ensure test equipment correctly and accurately assesses the performance of flight control actuators and to understand how software can be developed to automate this process. You will develop the skills required to produce technical procedures and reports to a high standard. You will learn how components are manufactured and assembled into finished products and will develop hands-on skills for assembling equipment, including measurement and inspection techniques. You will learn how to assess test requirements and results and to investigate test failures, including detailed root cause identification.
