Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join our supportive Primary School team, working with pupils and young people with Autism and Learning Disabilities. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about inclusive education and committed to helping children feel safe, supported, and confident in their learning. You will play a vital role in supporting pupils both academically and emotionally, helping them to develop independence, communication skills, and positive relationships within a nurturing and structured school environment. The Role As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will: * Provide tailored support to pupils with Autism and Learning Disabilities, both 1:1 and in small groups * Support learning activities under the direction of the class teacher and SENCO * Promote engagement, independence, and positive behaviour * Support pupils with social communication and emotional regulation * Assist with personal care where required * Create a safe, nurturing, and structured learning environment The Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who: * Has experience working with children or young people with SEN (desirable but not essential) * Has a patient, calm, and empathetic approach * Communicates effectively with pupils, staff, and parents * Works well as part of a team and follows school policies * Is committed to safeguarding and inclusive practice Full training and ongoing support will be provided.
