Job Description

As a Data Engineering Intern, you’ll work with our data engineering team to help build and maintain the systems that power our data platform. This internship is designed to give you hands-on experience with modern data technologies and real-world datasets . Responsibilities + Supporting the development and maintenance of data pipelines and workflows. + Assisting with ingesting and transforming data from multiple sources, such as MySQL databases and real-time Kafka streams. + Writing and improving SQL queries used for analytics and reporting. + Attending standups, sprint planning, code reviews — the full rhythm of a data engineering team + Collaborating with experienced engineers to turn business needs into technical solutions. + Asking questions, breaking things (safely), and learning how a fintech scales. + You’ll gain exposure to modern data engineering tools and work closely with mentors who will help you grow your technical skills.

Requirements

You're studying Computer Science, Software Engineering, or something adjacent at University of Malta or MCAST.
You're genuinely curious how real-world data systems are built — how data is collected, transformed and turned into something useful
Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.
Curiosity, a problem-solving mindset, and eagerness to take initiative.
You can write some code (in any language - we care more about thinking than syntax)
