Job Description

GE Medical Systems Limited is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Biomedical Trainee Engineer to join our team. This entry-level role provides a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the medical device industry, supporting the installation, maintenance, and repair of advanced medical equipment. The position is fully onsite in London and forms part of a two‑year trainee program with the potential for a permanent role upon successful completion.

Requirements

  • installation, configuration, and calibration of a wide range of medical devices
  • preventative maintenance programs, performing routine inspections and servicing to ensure equipment performance, reliability, and patient safety
  • troubleshooting and repair of complex biomedical systems, learning diagnostic techniques and the use of specialized tools
  • accurately document all service activities, including installations, maintenance, and repairs, in line with company procedures and regulatory standards
  • comply strictly with all quality, safety, and healthcare regulations related to medical devices and patient care
  • actively engage in ongoing learning through internal training, mentorship, and self-study to expand technical expertise
  • contribute to the management of spare parts and tools inventory, ensuring availability and proper record-keeping
  • Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Strong foundational understanding of electronics, mechanics, and computer systems
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with high attention to detail
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and complex equipment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office
  • Commitment to patient safety, quality standards, and ethical practices
  • Willingness to travel to client sites as required
  • Prior internship or project experience in a biomedical or technical environment is an advantage
