Job Description

Multiple positions are being offered across various functions and product families. The placement roles are spread across departments that are responsible for design, development, testing and validation of innovative fuel injection systems and products and associated system components for full range of common rail liquid fuel and hydrogen products. The student’s interests and scope of the placement will be clarified during the selection process. You will be able to put into practice your knowledge from university, and gain a thorough experience of working in a global tier 1 automotive supplier powering a carbon free tomorrow. Specific training will be provided for product functionality as required. The position is based in Technical Centre Gillingham.

Requirements

  • Personal and presentation skills, to enable liaison with internal teams and to represent PHINIA to external clients.
  • Current IT knowledge of MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point and understanding of the capabilities of CAD and FEA packages.
  • Good written and spoken fluency in English.
  • Able to operate effectively in a multi-national multi-lingual project environment.
  • Proven understanding of the principals of physics and mechanical engineering.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and manage several tasks at once.
  • Familiarity with fluid dynamics and metal fatigue principles.
  • Ability to work as part of a team whilst showing self-motivation and initiative.
  • Motivated.
  • Be able to work, present and communicate within all areas of the organization from shop floor to management.
  • Good organisational skills. – managing multiple projects at once
  • Working towards Degree (or equivalent) in mechanical engineering or related subject
  • Exposure via project work with mechanical and/or electromechanical components and products.
