Job Description

As an intern at NERA you will contribute to real client work from day one. Typical responsibilities include: * Collaborating closely with consulting teams on projects spanning competition economics, energy markets or transfer‑pricing. * Support the design and delivery of studies, expert reports and client presentations, from problem definition to analysis and documentation * Conduct company, industry and market research and synthesise findings into clear written reports and presentations * Build and apply quantitative models and evidence-based argumentation using economic theory and empirical methods * Clean, analyse and visualise data using statistical software * Present results to colleagues, and contribute to client-facing materials under senior guidance.

Requirements

  • Studying towards your university degree or postgraduate qualification in Economics and/or Finance
  • Strong quantitative and problem-solving skills; you should be comfortable with microeconomics and industrial organisation concepts
  • A strong interest in economic research or data analysis
  • Excellent written and spoken English; fluency in German or Italian (for Berlin) and French (for Paris)
  • Intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, accuracy, reliability and a solution-oriented mindset
  • Proficiency in MS Office and experience with statistical tools (Stata, R, Python, etc.) would be a plus
  • A collaborative mindset, motivated and able to manage responsibilities in small, fast-moving project teams.
