Job Description

Start date: July/ August 2026 Duration: 6 months Platform/Project: Process modelling During your assignment, you will be part of the D&EM (Developed and Emerging Markets) R&D team. You’ll be working in a high performing team, alongside peers always trying to reach the next level. You’ll be reporting to Francesco Torraca, Process Design & Pilot Plant Manager). As an integrated team member, we welcome you to take part in the team’s activities such as team meetings and category meetings which will give you a real feel for the company and the business. Get ready for a lot of exposure to internal senior stakeholders. The delivery of the Process Modeling Program will be your primary responsibility . Project brief You will be responsible for the development, validation, and simulation of mathematical/ data models for key unit operations, that will enable continuous improvement of our production processes and development of novel process design. Furthermore, you’ll support the development of new digital capabilities. Key activities * Learning about Processing technologies and potential applications for the Kraft Heinz portfolio. * Data generation by performing pilot plant trials with different unit operations and the key unit operation under investigation * Developing, validating and simulation of CFD / mathematical / data models for key unit operations under investigation * Carrying out a techno-economic evaluation on the outcome generated by model * Set conclusions and recommendations * Sharing knowledge within the HIC and other departments (presentation and final report) .

Requirements

  • strong communication skills
  • fluency in English, both written and verbal
  • You are enrolled at a university for at least 50% study load for the duration of the internship
  • Non - EU Students: Need to be enrolled at a Dutch University for the whole duration of the internship
  • EU working rights are required (Either you have EU Citizenship, you are studying in the Netherlands or have relevant student work visa)
  • Education: Master’s level in food processing technology or chemical food/chemical related engineering
  • Knowledge on : Food processing, unit operations, process modelling ( CFD tools, COMSOL is a plus ) , fluid dynamics principles
