As Intern - Metallography and Failure Analyst you will work alongside a failure analysis expert and you will support related activities. This is a great opportunity if you have basic experience in metallurgical laboratory analysis, such as defect analyses, optical microscopy examination, SEM-EDX, sample preparation, metallographic analysis. Essential Responsabilities Support with visual inspection of parts at low magnification to identify macroscopic evidence of defects or failure modes Develop your knowledge in defect assessment on jet engine parts and fracture mode of engine components Support in the surface analysis, like operation of SEM-EDS equipment Support with preliminary reports and contribute to the drafting of detailed reporting or documentation of the analyses Support with preparation of metallographic analysis of various sizes, shapes, and materials Support with sample preparation using cold and hot mount techniques, cutting, grinding and polishing, Metal Chemical Etching Support with optical microscopy examinations to analyze the microstructure of metallic materials for aeronautical use (Metallographic examination and optical imaging, Grain size measurements and image analysis)
