Job Description

We are seeking a motivated working student to join our Quality Control Microbiology team for a placement period. This role provides hands-on experience in a regulated life science environment, focusing on essential day-to-day laboratory activities. The successful candidate will support routine microbiological testing, environmental monitoring, and laboratory operations, contributing to the safe and compliant running of our facilities.

Assist with the preparation and analysis of samples
determine microbial contamination levels
raw materials, Water for Injection (WFI) systems, and finished products
Participate in routine monitoring and sampling of Water for Injection (WFI) systems
following established protocols
ensure compliance with regulatory standards
Support sterility testing activities specifically for products manufactured on site
ensuring procedures are followed
maintain product safety and quality
Carry out environmental monitoring activities
sampling of air, surfaces, and personnel in cleanrooms and controlled environments
Help maintain laboratory cleanliness and organisation
in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Accurately record all laboratory activities and results
in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP)
Assist with the operation, calibration, and basic maintenance of laboratory equipment
under supervision
Support the purchasing of laboratory consumables and reagents
assist with regular stock checks
ensure adequate supplies are maintained
Help with inventory management
liaise with suppliers as required
