The IT R&D Software Delivery department supports more than 7,000 software developers at ASML. The team provides a stable and scalable engineering environment used daily to build complex software products. Fast and reliable access to design knowledge is essential for this work. This internship focuses on improving that experience by creating an AI Knowledge Assistant that helps developers understand and navigate design information. You will contribute directly to a solution that enhances onboarding and daily productivity. You will join the IT department in the Release and Delivery domain. Your role is to explore how AI can simplify the way users access and learn from technical documentation. You will work with real engineering content and apply modern language‑model techniques to develop a practical and intelligent assistant. Your work will support new team members and help developers find information more efficiently. Your main responsibilities will be: * Build an onboarding assistant using design decisions, requirements, and other documentation. * Develop question‑answering features for components, processes, interfaces, and terminology. * Create summarization and guidance flows that support newcomers. * Implement an interactive trainer mode for learning and skill development. * Evaluate the assistant using a structured question‑and‑answer scoring framework. * Analyze prompt‑engineering strategies to improve assistant performance. * Implement cross‑document consistency checks to identify outdated, duplicated, or conflicting information. * Integrate semantic‑similarity methods to detect related items across documents. This is a non‑thesis internship with a duration of minimum of 5 to 6 months, starting in early August 2026.
