Purpose of the role As a Service Desk Apprentice you’ll be a key member of the IT Service Desk helping users with all IT support related issues, assisting the Service Desk Technicians and Analysts. The Service Desk Team operate in a traditional tiered service desk structure designed around the ITIL framework and the Apprentice will perform general duties across the remit of the Service Desk Activities. Your key responsibilities will include: Answer telephone calls in a professional, confident, and timely manner. Learn to log, categorise, and track incoming IT tickets. Assist users with basic technical inquiries via phone, email, web portal, and in person. Shadow experienced team members to develop troubleshooting skills. Contribute to maintaining the service desk knowledge base. Participate in regular training sessions and self-study activities. Support basic IT system administration tasks.
