Job Description

We are looking for a motivated Master’s (or final‑year Bachelor’s) student in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Life Sciences or a related field! Do you want to know what it’s like to be part of one of the largest multinational companies in the pharmaceutical industry? We offer an internship opportunity within our Extractables & Leachables (E&L) Center of Excellence Team in AH Global Packaging Technology & Support where you will have the freedom and space for your own initiative. Welcome to our team The E&L CoE is an essential hub within Animal Health . This team is focused on providing scientific expertise, global guidance, and risk‑based strategies for extractables and leachables related to primary packaging materials, process contact materials, and devices used in veterinary drug products. The team consists of experienced subject‑matter experts who work closely with manufacturing sites, quality, regulatory affairs, packaging technology, and development functions to ensure consistent, science‑based and inspection‑defensible E&L approaches across the product lifecycle. Your internship assignment As an intern, you will be responsible for delivering a scientific, evidence‑based memo on the selection of model solvents and testing conditions in extractables studies for primary packaging materials and process contact materials used in veterinary drug products. The outcome of the internship is a structured internal reference document that supports consistent extractables study design, scientific justification, and knowledge sharing within the E&L Center of Excellence. Your responsibilities * Perform a literature and guidance review related to extractables testing, model solvent selection, and extraction conditions * Build a scientific rationale framework linking solvent and condition selection to material chemistry, dosage form, and intended use * Analyze typical veterinary product scenarios and their impact on extractables study design * Draft a clear, structured memo suitable for internal scientific reference * Providing a fresh perspective to the E&L CoE Team by sharing your opinion The tasks described form the basic package and will often be performed independently after a proper training and learning period. These tasks may be supplemented with other projects and/or tasks on your own initiative or at the request of the organization.

Requirements

  • Master’s student (or final‑year Bachelor’s) in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Life Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, or a related field
  • Interest in research, scientific writing, pharmaceutical quality, packaging materials, or regulatory science
  • Ability to work independently and in a structured manner
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Available for a period of several months for 4–5 days per week
