Job Description

As an Apprentice Technician, you will work towards a Level 3 Apprenticeship in Electrical, Electronic Product Service and Installation Engineering. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role where you will build the technical expertise and confidence required to progress into a Service Engineer position. You will gain practical IT engineering experience across a range of sectors, supporting customers both on site and within our operations centre. Working with high-specification printers, laptops, and commercial hardware, you will learn how to install, configure, test, maintain, and repair business-critical equipment. Alongside developing strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills, you will enhance your customer service capability by delivering clear communication and a professional, solutions-focused experience.

Requirements

  • Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check
  • Level 2 qualification in Mathematics and English Language
  • Relevant experience or demonstrable practical interest in engineering, IT hardware, electronics, or a related technical field
  • Full, valid United Kingdom driving licence
  • Ability and commitment to attend block release training at Newark College every six weeks, Monday to Thursday, with Friday allocated to remote learning
  • Residence within a reasonable and sustainable commuting distance of the assigned site
  • Willingness to accept the National Minimum Wage in line with apprenticeship regulations
