Job Description

Join us as R&D Food Safety intern at our international headquarters in Utrecht starting in September 2026. In this internship, you will support the global standardization and digitalization of our HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) program across the JDE facility network. This project aims to harmonize HACCP process and leverage digital tools to enhance compliance and efficiency. You will work closely with central and factory quality teams to assess current HACCP practices, identify gaps, and contribute to the development of a globally aligned and digitally enabled HACCP framework. Your key activities will be: 1. Conduct a literature review on HACCP best practices, with a focus on biological, physical, and chemical hazard controls. 2. Support the development of standardized HACCP templates, decision trees, and risk assessment tools. 3. Contribute to the digitalization strategy by evaluating digital platforms and tools for HACCP documentation, monitoring, and reporting. 4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with company requirements and certification standards. 5. Support the creation of training materials and SOPs to facilitate global rollout and adoption of the standardized digital HACCP program.

Requirements

  • You are enrolled in a BSc or MSc program for the entirety of the internship, preferably in Food Technology/Science/Quality/Food Safety/Toxicology or related subjects.
  • You possess strong MS Office skills and fluent proficiency in speaking and written English
  • Having some similar hands-on experience with food research activities is always a benefit.
  • You have a structured approach, a driven and energetic personality, excellent communication and people skills, and the ability to work both in a team and independently.
  • You are ready to dedicate at least 5 months to this internship, preferably from September 2026 until February 2027
  • You can join the internship for 5 days per week, including three days in-office and one or two days remotely, ensuring an ideal balance between collaboration and independence.
  • Your internship should be included in your study curriculum and directly contribute to your academic results.
  • Your educational institution is willing to sign a collaboration agreement with JDE Peet's and when joining our Research departments, also sign an NDA agreement for internships.
  • You are either an EU(EEA) student residing in the Netherlands during the internship or a Non-EU(EEA) student enrolled and living in the Netherlands during the internship.
