Job Description

The design of complex systems increasingly represents a multidisciplinary optimisation task in order to quantify the advantages of new technologies in the best possible way. Helicopter rotor blades are one such system for which DLR is developing a tool chain for the automated generation, calculation and evaluation of the internal structure. As part of our team, you will work on the further development of a tool for structure generation and calculation, which is realised by combining a design program (CATIA) with simulation software (ANSYS) in a Python environment. The aim is the numerical calculation of structural properties of rotor blade cross-sections and the development of visualisation and protocol structures.

Requirements

Ongoing studies in engineering (electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, general engineering or comparable specialisation)
Independent and structured way of working
Good to very good knowledge of Python
Good knowledge of CATIA
Experience in ANSYS Workbench and ANSYS Classic
Good knowledge of structural modelling and calculation (FEM)
Good knowledge of German and English
