As an RI Cruden Apprentice, you will gain valuable hands-on experience working alongside a talented team at a wide range of domestic and commercial projects across the country. For our 2026 Apprenticeship Programme, you will be considered for all four of our specialist areas as detailed below; Electrical - You’ll build the skills needed to install, test, and maintain modern electrical systems across a range of environments. Training covers reading technical drawings, diagnosing faults, and working to strict safety and wiring regulations, helping you develop into a confident and capable electrical professional. Plumbing - Expect to work hands‑on with water, heating, and drainage systems, mastering high-quality pipework and appliance installation. You’ll also learn to troubleshoot water flow issues and work with sustainable water‑efficiency technologies to meet today’s environmental standards. Heating and Ventilation - This pathway is all about designing, installing and maintain heating, ventilation, and air‑conditioning systems. Typically, within commercial and industrial environments, you’ll have the chance to work and experience larger, more complex building services equipment. Welding and pipework fabrication form an integral aspect, giving you the practical skills to construct and maintain robust system infrastructure. Alongside this, you’ll gain a wealth of experience with low‑carbon technologies, including air and ground source heat pumps, supporting the delivery of energy‑efficient and environmentally responsible solutions for customers and clients. Service and Maintenance - Your work will focus on keeping buildings running smoothly through planned and reactive maintenance. Drawing on qualifications you will have the chance to undertake across Commercial Gas, Oftec Commercial Oil and F‑Gas, alongside your continued college learning, you’ll build the skills and knowledge to support site safety, complete technical repairs, and help improve building performance so that all systems run efficiently and in full compliance, all year-round. During the application process, you will have the opportunity to indicate your preferred area of focus. While we will take your preference into account, apprentices may ultimately be interviewed for any of the four areas. This structure aims to make sure we give you a broad, high‑quality learning experience, whilst allowing us to match you with the area where we feel you can make the greatest impact.
