As a Marine Operations Apprentice, you’ll support the safe and efficient running of the port. Your work may involve vessel berthing, vessel traffic services (VTS), marine services, harbour and marina operations, conservancy, environmental protection, statutory compliance, and operating harbour craft within the Harbour Authority’s jurisdiction. We’re looking for motivated, reliable individuals who can work independently in a high‑responsibility role. The position involves shift work, including nights, and working in all environments—both on the water and shoreside. We will provide hands‑on training across core marine operations, including patrol and pilot launches, berthing duties, and VTS. Health and safety is central to the role, with daily involvement in risk assessments and safe systems of work. Apprentices may also have opportunities to shadow teams such as Cruise, Hydrography, and Health & Safety to gain a broader understanding of port operations.
