We are currently accepting applications for a PhD student position within the framework of the Severo Ochoa program. This is a unique opportunity for highly motivated students recently graduated from the University in Physics or related fields to gain research experience in one of DIPC’s high-profile research teams. At the 2DSPM research group (DIPC) we are looking for a PhD candidate to carry out experimental work in the emergent field of moiré quantum matter. In particular, the applicant will focus on the electronic characterization of the ultraflat bands leading to superconductivity in graphene and related moiré systems. The candidate will carry out STM/STS measurements at low temperatures (300 mK) and high vector magnetic fields to unveil the fundamental properties and topology of such bands as well as the degree of electron correlations.
